A placemat shaped like a river stone rather than a rectangle. The curve sits well against a round table edge, and on a bare wooden surface it reads as a deliberate object rather than as something put down to protect the table.

It is double-sided faux leather with a different tone on each face, so you turn it over when one side has had a day. A matching coaster comes with it.
